Dr Nataliya Reshetova is a visiting researcher at GESIS Cologne, Knowledge Exchange and Outreach in the framework of the DAAD program Future Ukraine: Research Grants for Ukrainian researchers. Nataliya has been at GESIS several times as a guest researcher. From 2016 to 2017, she was a postdoctoral researcher at GESIS. Following that she became a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne at the School of Political and Social Sciences In 2021, she was on a DAAD re-invitation program for the scholars at GESIS. She was awarded the Elizabeth Nelson Prize for the Best Paper from the Society in Transition by the World Association of Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) in 2023. The paper “Support for Democracy in Ukraine: The Reinforcing Effect of Critical Junctures” was co-authored with Prof. Dr Malina Voicu and was published as a chapter of the book “Social Values and Identities in the Black Sea Region” Throughout her research career, Nataliya has investigated democracy, and political trust in Ukraine. Her areas of expertise are hybrid democracies, democratic performance, and political trust.
